Pinoy inventor Jayme Navarro and his kids turn plastic waste into gold... liquid. Their noble factory in Rodriguez, Rizal is turning plastic into diesel, kerosene and gas. And the good news is their petroleum is P5.00 cheaper than what can be bought on gasoline stations. Mang Jayme’s goal to rediscover the original plastic “as in virgin material” resulted to a liquid that could save many a money if given the proper funding and patronage. The DOST have given them the patent for their invention, by the way, and the support that hopefully we may feel in the near future.
I must say that we, Filipinos, are really blessed to have some Pinoy Henyo like Mang Jayme because at present where there’s no cessation of rising prices of our major necessities, comes an inventor who could lower the price for a better living.
Hopefully, the 3 month of test run without “aberya” would continue to lasting operation and this, of course, needs every Filipinos prayer and support. If we demand and promised to use local fuels such as this other than the expensive diesel the country has no choice but to import, then the government and business sectors may see the need to nurture such discovery.
One step at a time, Filipino petroleum could improve and could compete with the unleashing power of foreign oils. Now, as it is, not only does it provide an answer on how to profit from garbage while lessening the pile of plastics that are still in wide use in spite of the global call for reducing plastic consumption, it also provides an imminent solution from poverty.
